Pardes is all about the selfless love of Arjun and the lead position of ‘Ganga’ became solely written for ‘Madhuri Dixit’ However Madhuri had a few troubles with Subhash Ghai in the course of the filming of ‘Khalnayak’ so opted out of the movie.

This is a natural love tale wherein Kishori Lal (Amrish Puri) is a successful businessman settled in America but emotionally connected to his motherland – India. So the Pardesi involve India together with his son Rajiv (Apoorva Agnihotri) to discover an appropriate shape for Rajiv. He unearths his bahu in Punjab-ki-kudi Kusum Ganga (Mahima Chaudhry) withinside the residence of his youth pal Suraj Dev (Alok Nath). To finalize the wedding he sends his son along with his foster son Arjun (Shah Rukh Khan) to India. Arjun performs the cupid and returns to America with Kusum and Rajiv. All is hunky-dory until the real Bharatiya Nari unearths that her destined husband isn’t a teetotaler. So, the heartbroken Kusum returns to India. It is simply the start as Arjun (the hero) falls in love together along with his would-have-been bhabhi whilst gambling the cupid.
